The route of the third day of our road trip in Sweden, going from Vassbotten to Bengtsofrs
We wake up in the beautiful Bullarebygdens Family Camping. The view of the lake from the calm waters, only rippled by the group of ducks that took flight, made us regret to leave this beautiful place, nestled in the woods. We therefore decided not to get too far and reach the town of Ed, on Lake Stora Le.
Arrived in the city we went to the tourist info of the area to get more information on outdoor activities offered by the province of Dalsland. We discovered the existence of the Tresticklan national park, rich in water, the main feature of this beautiful green region. We then went back to the Stora Le lake to start our trekking day in the park. Arrived at the entrance of the path, which from the town of Ed is about 15 minutes by car, we found the parking almost empty, perhaps we are among the few early morning tourists here. We began, even more enthusiastically, the walk, equipped with our backpacks and Fujifilm X-T1 camera. The path is unique and is divided into colors based on the final destination, starting from the shortest and then proceed along the most challenging.
The woods are quite dense but sometimes they surprise, leaving space to beautiful ponds on which the surrounding landscape is clearly reflected and with small islands hosting some solitary pine trees.
The path is well marked and cared for, the views really impressive and the wooden bridges facilitate the passage. However it is suitable for everyone, there is not a big difference in level to be covered, at least initially. Who, however, would love to go to the last path marked in orange, will have to do a little ‘more effort’ but will see even more unspoiled places.
On our return we were lucky enough to meet the look of a fawn roe deer. He escaped instantly, as expected, but then he remained to watch us from the woods, to allow us to appreciate its presence for a while. Seeing free animals in their natural habitat is truly priceless.
After the walk was already 3 pm and we were hungry. We took the car and thought of a place to spend the night. Looking among the typical houses in the area, we arrived at Bengtsfors where we found a small apartment run by a canoe and kayak owner who kindly rented it for one night (find it here http://www.bootshaus.se/en/rooms-apartments).
Reached, then, the supermarket of the small town on the lake, we did supply of fish and Mexican food and we returned home for a super dinner. Appetizer of salmon burger and white fish, quesadillas dish with minced meat, vegetables, corn, and of course guacamole sauce filled our bellies. In the evening, finally, we rested by leafing through our lonely planet guide and decided the stages for the remaining two days in this wonderful country.
